GEOTECHNICAL CORE LOGGING, SOIL PROFILING AND CHIP LOGGING

  • DAY 1 – CORE LOGGING (whole day)
  • DAY 2 - SOIL PROFILING Part 1 (whole day)
  • DAY 3 - SOIL PROFILING Part 2 (morning)
  • DAY 3 – CHIP LOGGING (afternoon)
Who should attend:
  • Young or learner geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists.
  • Soil laboratory or geotechnical technologists.
  • Foreign geotechnical practitioners who need an introduction to the widely used South African methodology.
  • Mine geologists working in the geotechnical field.

DAY 2 (whole day):
  • Field trip around Johannesburg to visit exposures of various rock types.
